Using Home Equity as a Deposit

If you’ve owned your home for several years, you may have accumulated significant equity in your property. Equity represents the portion of your property’s value that is free from any lender’s interest. For example, if your property is worth $1,000,000 and you have a mortgage loan of $600,000, your equity would be $600,000.

Instead of needing a cash deposit to purchase an investment property, you can leverage this equity as your deposit. This approach allows you to utilize the value you’ve built up in your home to expand your investment portfolio.
